Thread: Evolution, gconf2, compiz upgrade errors & resultant SERIOUS dysfunctions

where (display) problem (bug) need posted in order addressed?
2 problems:
1. see post (link below contains visuals) on evolution , gedit video display errors. result evolution unusable , gedit hampered. video driver problem? gnome problem? evoloution and/or gedit problem? novell problem? more endemic ubuntu or debian problem (it seems show in fedora , others)?

2. update , upgrade problem: may or may not related first problem.

warning list has lines restore-size, restore-position, ask-delete-category, show-due-column, auto-purge, hide-done, hl-due, hl-today, , hl-indays.

in debian , stream of release flavors, second problem appears have 9 lives of cat. apparently, it's been around since 2010. there @ least 4 separate bug number assignments (maybe more ... stopped looking) no solutions.

video display issues evolution , gnome may have nothing 1 another, doubt it. "processing triggers" may separate issue entirely i've come wonder.

/var/log.apt/term.log error appears right after logged modifications of
compiz-plugins-main
compizconfig-settings-manager
any install or removal of evolution

important how these problems can addressed sofware depends on solution can used. if needs evolution in production environment (and many of do), they're sol.
use standard ubuntu 12.04.1? lts installs (the lts part important) mate , cinnamon desktops added. don't use mint. use unity , gnome3 periodically tweak environments work flow , find unity , gnome3 more resistant , opaque process.

Some mp4 files not displaying correctly (CS6)

a week ago in premiere pro cs6 world. one day updated windows, next day few .mp4 video files opened in premiere pro, played fine well, except fact display has green (sometimes multicolour, solid green block) bars in lower third of screen. see screenshot below.   these same files open/display fine in after effects, photoshop , vlc- , quicktime players. i'd read fromyears ago windows updates causing this, removed 1 of therecent kb's no avail. i did install adobemediaencodertrial_64-6.0.3-mul-adobeupdate and dynamiclinkmediaserverretail-1.0.1-mul-adobeupdate and reverted quicktime 7.6 but nothing makes difference.   in end, formatted c:\, reinstalled windows 7 ultimate 64bit , downloaded/installed 260 updates , reinstalled cs6 (and aforementioned ame , dlms updates , qt7.6) it's still same problem.   also tried exporting (part of) 1 of these files, see if wasn't display problem: exported file same properties original has green bars.   what else can do?   thanks in advanc
