Is it possible to create vector objects as compound shapes as you draw them (automatically)?

i'd start utilizing illustrator more web , user interface design projects, still taking photoshop final rendering , compositing (and simple fact developers want psds, not ai files). however, find way transfer of vector artwork illustrator , preserve vector objects in photoshop (when exporting) manually convert every individual vector object in illustrator compound shape (by selecting shape , clicking make compound shape pathfinder palette menu). can tedious if has done after design complete, , inefficient if convert every object draw it.

is there way set illustrator automatically create every vector object drawn compound shape without having manually convert it?

a little background on issue...

adobe illustrator allows export illustrator document photoshop document. however, compound paths (not compound shapes - see article not-so-great explanations comparing two) – default attribute applied of illustrator's basic vector objects – not convert vector objects when exported document opened in photoshop. rather, vector objects drawn in illustrator flattened raster layers in photoshop, making them poor candidates refining design in photoshop.

rather going through , exporting ai file, might lot easier (and avoid weird problems) if copy file ai , literally paste new ps document. there no compound issues method have ever encountered.

and no, way "automatically" make object compound in ai set live type , turn outlines, since type pre-compounded.
