Thread: back track 5 boots to blank screen

hello community,

have installed black track 5 (based on ubuntu 10.04) on separate 500gb hdd , when run on acer aspire 1 d270 boots blank screen. partition on 500gb hdd encrypted. when run backtrack on other computers boots normally.

acer aspire 1 d270 starts ok : prompts me partition password, splash screen passes while screen goes blank. wlan indicator light not light boot process has stalled.

but: when boot system acer aspire 1 d270 connected external monitor, system boots , successfully, activating acer's own monitor.

can tell me if there way of booting correctly without having connect external monitor first?

know acer aspire 1 d270 has issue linux systems due cedarview graphics card, if case problem persist external monitor well, suppose.

thread moved other os/distro talk.

---------------------

have tried 'nomodeset' option @ kernel boot line?

i'm assuming uses same grub2 menu default ubuntu. if so, may try 'failsafex' mode in recovery menu, or add kernel boot line (by pressing 'e' @ grub menu > adding 'nomodeset' @ end of boot line) temporary testing, or permanently set nomodeset option in /etc/default/grub file > 'update-grub'.

let me know if need this, although i'm not sure if it'll help.
