Thread: Still booting to Windows

hey guys, i'm sure has come thousand times, use little quick help.

last night re-installed windows on second hdd (500gb) play games friends. first hdd had ubuntu 12.04 on , planned on doing clean install of 12.10 today. thought go fine since installed windows first , grub allow me choose os boot after installed 12.10. guess that's not case.

have first hdd this:

/root - 25gb
/swap - 4gb
/home - rest of drive

2nd hdd:

windows

chose first hdd place install bootloader or whatever ubuntu 12.10. should have picked windows drive? there way fix or have re-install ubuntu 12.10 again?

appreciated!

it seems 12.10 doesn't install grub2 correctly on mbr sometimes. boot ubuntu cd/dvd in live mode, , if root partition /dev/sda1 mentioned, in terminal try:
code:
sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt sudo grub-install --root-directory=/mnt /dev/sda
also don't forget set bios boot sda. restart , see how goes.
