Thread: Toshiba L750d/755d kernel & ACPI issues

i have toshiba l755d (exact same bios (insyde h2o , hardware 750d (750d has bluetooth), hence title) , fn keys don't work, no surprise there. see bunch of threads in google on other forums, cannot find solution. apparently 1 works, compiling new kernel, recent 1 have seen kernel version 2.6. there don't seem other fixes problem. have tried else have see, if have seen/see missed please reply.

have tried:
  • fnfx (way outdated older toshiba computers)
  • toshset (also outdated, not much)
  • editing grub menu (no change, idk if did right, seem other ubuntu versions/grub versions)

if know of anymore, or have seen fix, please post here.

im running ubuntu 13.04 (have same issues on opensuse 12.3, ubuntu 12.04, 12.10) running 64 bit versions, hardware (except battery) work fine.

problems:
  • no battery icon (have tried 3rd party software, battery isn't detected.) lasts ~4 hours
  • fn keys don't work except mute(fn+exc) volume up/down (fn+3/4 respectivly). (the brightness down (fn+f6) has keycode, (fn+f7) not, wifi toggle (fn+f8) not return keycode)
  • brightness control via menu works, untill install amd fglrx (one additional software/drivers gives unspported software in bottom right, 1 amd's site works fine) brightness control bar still there, no change when change it.

if need me post terminal outputs or other information, ask.

in advance!

anyone know of any fixes?
hope don't seem impatient, still looking, if comes across something...
not have use windows
