Thread: New Ubuntu Installation Help needed


hello,

old windows user. have tried ubuntu every , along windows. want move ubuntu. have ssd additional 1.5th hdd. getting new gpu before starting new os on desktop.

query hdd. installing os(13.04) on ssd.

1. second hdd, brand new , never used, recognized directly while install os?

2. choose if can partition or should later gparted?

3. have 2tb external hdd(ntfs). if use ext3/ext4 filesystem can there problem while exchanging files ext. hdd? specific guide filesystem should choose helpful.

edit 1: system 64bit 2x4gb ddr3 ram + phenom quad core processor (in case these help).

ubuntu setup should detect connected drives during install.

have lot of partition options during setup, can complicated.
might easier let thing, mess gparted later.

windows user until couple years ago, , made habbit of selecting advanced when installing anything.

when installing ubuntu first time, did same. came understand, advanced.

pretty aspects of ubuntu seem give option of either "so easy, caveman it", or "we've got our switches, lights, , knobs deal with. mean, down here there literally hundreds , thousands of blinking, beeping, , flashing lights, blinking, beeping , flashing - they're flashing , they're beeping. can't stand anymore! they're blinking , beeping , flashing!"

said, satisfied, , glad no longer have windows in life.

, ecstatic, no longer have os x in life.

complicated, if want be.
