Thread: Issues trying to install 12.04 lts/ 12.10 on a Laptop

i've been trying ubuntu 12.04lts , or 12.10 on girlfriends laptop (hp g6 amd a6, 4 gigs of ram, 320gb hdd, win7) no avail. i've tried booting flashdrive (hung unresponsive) , disk. i've attached image of error keep getting. i've google searched issue inserting multiple individual lines of error , have gotten no results. insight appreciated. thank you.

have used 4 primary partitions?

have shrunk windows using windows disk tools , rebooted several times windows can update new size.

have backed windows , made windows repaircd?

vendor recovery dvds image of drive purchased. if have housecleaned lot of cruft included, run many updates many reboots, , added software may want full up.
