Thread: testdisk + USB partitions lost

hi all,

need recovering data on usb stick.
have tried multiple times on own testdisk - no success.

device + history:
kingston dt r500 usb (16gb usb-2)
when saving file few days ago, decided hang , nothing, disappeared.
far have done nothing further corrupt.

suspect need define/size partitions it.

current status:
usb doesnt come on machine (running ubuntu 12.04).
dmesg shows following (and partition table kaput)

first attempts search did nothing.
refined geometry have 1 head 1 sector - did search, deeper search.

did try photorec in full disk scan mode?

since looks headers , doesn't care partition table, may have more chance of recovery.
alternatively, may try trial version of commercial software - data (my previous favourite, after trying bunch of top rated apps), although have had more luck testdisk/photorec.

trial version of commercial software scan , give list of files can recover. can let save files upto specific size. if haven't tried photorec yet, give go first. it's super fast , has been promising in personal experience.
