Thread: supermicro support? Ubuntu version hardware support?

i'm new ubuntu , pretty linux matter - non m$ os of choice being freebsd.

i've started project running bigbluebutton box , specific 10.04 should used (there workarounds other versions it's recommended against , need setup go smooth spend limited time on config , testing)

supermicro servers have been low buck, excellent performance, non m$ based choice years , i'd use 1 this. based on online list, have 3!!! older servers directly compatible 10.04 - others 8x, 9x compat , bunch of newer ones 11x,12x compat. vast majority made m$, suse , rh oses.

without me having research individual components on mb's compatibility, have generic compatibility info sm products?

ubuntu's backwards , forwards hardware compatibility range? 9x or 11x or 12x supported hardware supported in 10.04?

in advance! rich
