Thread: Volume Randomly Changing Produces Clicking Sound


i have problem volume randomly glitches , produces , audible clicking sound every ~10sec. can watch volume indicator jitter when happens. using intel® core™ i7-3770k integrated graphics , audio, , problem occurs with connected motherboard line out (not front line out). here alsa report:

have seen other posts problem**, there solutions seemed rather hardware specific, didn't want blindly down path. can point me relevant solution, or let me know need debug this?

so have been trying random things forum posts, , has seemed fix it:

adding
options snd-hda-intel model=generic
to
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

although think might have given functionality because see far less options in sound settings. idea root cause?
