Thread: Starting Reload cups are both [ OK ] & [ FAIL ] at boot

one of first things did after installed 13.04 remove modemmanager, because don't use it. however, noticed during boot process there still reference this:

stopping modem connection manager [ ok ]

chance went /etc/init/, made copy of modemmanager.conf, preserving permisions, time stamp, owner etc. , deleted file init/ folder. after restart, reference disappeared boot screen, believe problem fixed , not apparently.

still got 1 more problem:

* starting reload cups, upon starting avahi-daemon make sure remote queues populated [ok]

* starting reload cups, upon starting avahi-daemon make sure remote queues populated [fail]

reference appears twice. looked /etc/init , there were 2 files related cups. first cups-browsed.conf (i deleted cups-browsed long time ago ) , cups.conf, removing cups-browsed.conf didn't solve problem. still fail message.

ideas why i'm getting , how can fixed?

thank you.

ah yes, tempation remove stuff linux. unlike wikipedia, idea seems better on paper in practice.

avahi daemon used advertise shared printers on network. removing configuration files break services rely on them.

can reinstall cups or replace configuration files , reboot.

configuration files meant configured--not deleted. if meant deleted called delete_me files. can safely remove files called delete_me.
