Thread: SSD problem...

i have intel ssd major problem. here's did: installed xp pro it. installed unbuntu mech. hd grub dual-boot. restarted went xp w/o grub. assume ub put grub on mech hd when booted did xp partition. stuff read on ssds said use achi; did in bios setup. used gparted format ntfs partition 1 mb offset. fine. xp wouldn't load. decided not load xp. tried change ssd partition linux gparted & couple other linux cds none of them load, stopped blinking cursor on top-left. couple questions: have set bios achi linux? did lunch ssd? knowledgeable on win first time i've tried use linux/ubuntu. thanks!

i had stop booting xp on hard drive, when got ssd. install of xp did not have drivers ahci , understanding had new install work. need drivers sata. can still boot old xp, have go bios turn off ahci.
not think xp work ssd. old correctly support trim , other features needed.

ubuntu booted fine ahci on or off, xp not boot on. , understanding need ahci trim work. not sure windows?
