Illustrator CC text doesn't change color using eyedropper

hello, i've been having problem while illustrator cc not older versions.  if use eyedropper pick color, captures color , acts applied object/text continues stay older color.  text have use type tool, highlight of text, , select color.  process if annoying when need highlight , change several text boxes @ once.  doing wrong?  can fix this.  able click on object/text , use eyedropper tool capture whatever color need.

show layers , appearance panels expanded. looks being applied @ different level black fill.
