Thread: Text editor that makes numbered backups?

i'm using lubuntu 12.10 comes leafpad. if edit text file, no backup created , there doesn't seem obvious way create backups.

i'd use text editor can create backups preferably retaining multiple backups. in other words, if edit temp.txt once , save it, latest version temp.txt , backup temp.bak.1. next edit result in temp.bak.2 , on.

(i'm not interested in editor brings in kde dependencies.)

you use nano , use backup modifier alt+b nano in standard install of lubuntu 12.10
