possible add third os laptop?
ubuntu 12.04, #! , linux lite strong contenders.
thinking of letting ubuntu fit sda5 alongside linux mint, store data in sda3 @ moment, need space fit o/s.
ubuntu make decision me , slot in elsewhere, (sda2 or 3 maybe) , set grub boot 3 o/s?
had no trouble setting dual boot, , important keep windows vista working because wife uses office 2010 on that.

understand concerns, have 2 comments ...

first, should download , install free version of macrium reflect in vista, use option image backup of vista external drive, , use option create , burn linux boot cd. these, have means restore vista in few minutes -- should go wrong during multi-boot setup.

second, if need more disk space next os, use vista disk management utility shrink vista. not use gparted or linix distro installer -- has resulted in corruption of windows filesystem, rendering unbootable. after shrinkage, boot vista couple of times can needed filesystem adjustments.

safe keeping, after shrinkage, should run mr backup. allow restore "shrunked" version of vista, should need to.
