Thread: problem mounting ftp folder to local directory in Ubuntu

[running on ubuntu quantal on dell optiflex 9010.] i'm bluffed strange problem in mounting ftp folder local directory. when type

code:
ftp://username@blabla.server.com:portnumber/folder/subfolder
in firefox, access desired folder. using same link, in kubuntu on computer, have access subfolder , copy/move files to/from there.

however, current ubuntu/optiflex, can't use "connect server..." "ftp (with login)". using curlftpfs returns errors such "error connecting ftp: quot command failed 501" or "error connecting ftp: access denied: 530". however, using firefox, it's possible access subfolder... it's note username allows me access subfolder , not folder.

clues?

oh sorry easy... added

code:
ftp://username@blabla.server.com:portnumber/folder/subfolder
in .gtk-bookmarks file of home folder , appears automatically on left under "bookmarks" of nautilus. not quite wanted enough.
