Thread: Restrict Broadband

i'm running 12.04 on 1 pc , 12.10 on - not sure if relevant each have static ip on home network (of 2 pcs!). i'm in uk , have broadband download speed of approx 6mb. there way of restricting bandwidth either 1 (preferably both) machines have 2mb? i've had @ router (dlink dsl-2680) there dosn't seem easy way of restricting speed. wondering if done @ pc end?

limiting inbound ("ingress") hard. it's french goose trying refuse food that's fed via tube ... ;-(

have @ "tc" , examples of limiting ingress traffic. , "man tc", especially: "policing pertains traffic arriving. policing occurs on ingress."
