Thread: Sound problems (been trying for 5 days)

hi,

first off, new linux.

first installed ubuntu 12.10 alongside windows 7. sound didnt work. searched forums , google.. , tried alot of things.
reinstalled ubuntu 12.10, no luck.
installed mint, no luck
installed ubuntu 10.04 no luck.

atm have windows 7 installed, works fine, , ubuntu 10.04. no sound.
have msi p67a-c43. alc 892.

tried many things, not sure if install of ubuntu correct atm.
me out?

for sound issue (and assuming there not other serious problems on system), can start pasting url browser, let script run, copy output gedit , save it:

script output shows needed troubleshoot sound system -- hardware, dmesg errors, loaded modules, etc. can use output search problems , solutions, or post here if need it.
