Thread: Startup problems and errors in the file system.

ubuntu 12.10 calls check disks when booting. problem shows no sign of being checking it. skipping check enter system.


problem i'm not allowed modify files on disk , firefox not open. chromium neither. when try open firefox comes message open , asking close it. it's not open.


today turned on laptop, using windows 7, , appeared black screen text prompting fixes disk. choose fix. after that, when ubuntu boots, problem appears.


ubuntu installed wubi, on partition separate windows 7, deduce problem not him.


it's difficult me. ubuntu has same level of instability windows xp. prefer because user experience better me, have reinstall every 3 months because of 1 problem or another. , worst installation recent. not have time correcting mistakes time because of work , college.

are of that? wubi definition installs ubuntu file (root.disk) in windows partition.

problems possibly caused failing hard disk. have run windows' chkdsk? or checked drive's smart data?

a week ago in premiere pro cs6 world. one day updated windows, next day few .mp4 video files opened in premiere pro, played fine well, except fact display has green (sometimes multicolour, solid green block) bars in lower third of screen. see screenshot below.   these same files open/display fine in after effects, photoshop , vlc- , quicktime players. i'd read fromyears ago windows updates causing this, removed 1 of therecent kb's no avail. i did install adobemediaencodertrial_64-6.0.3-mul-adobeupdate and dynamiclinkmediaserverretail-1.0.1-mul-adobeupdate and reverted quicktime 7.6 but nothing makes difference.   in end, formatted c:\, reinstalled windows 7 ultimate 64bit , downloaded/installed 260 updates , reinstalled cs6 (and aforementioned ame , dlms updates , qt7.6) it's still same problem.   also tried exporting (part of) 1 of these files, see if wasn't display problem: exported file same properties original has green bars.   what else can do?   thanks in advanc
