is possible put laptop in hibernate or not, on 13.04 pre-release system hibernate option in power settings it's grayed out?

well did ubuntu 12.04 box , worked (i haven't tried 13.04 yet):

check whether machine supports hibernation

sudo pm-hibernate

if hibernate test works, can continue use sudo pm-hibernate command when want hibernate.

can enable hibernate option in menus. that, use favorite text editor create /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/com.ubuntu.enable-hibernate.pkla
add following file , save:

[re-enable hibernate default] identity=unix-user:* action=org.freedesktop.upower.hibernate resultactive=yes
