Thread: How to purge printer drivers and pointers from 12.04.2

printer didn't work after installing 12.04.2 yesterday. system saw usb printer, offered driver not download (internal server error external server error" code on gui). tried working with howto. thought did correctly, terminal gave "warning! alien not running root!" looked loaded in proper places, except ping did not work in step 9. after going through howto, doesn't see printer @ anymore.
hoping explain how purge printer drivers , pointers terminal or other method can system @ least seeing correct printer, wouldn't load driver reason. replies.

i got working using this howto locate z600 driver , i386 libstdc++5 got synaptic. first got libstdc++5, downloaded z600 driver. ppd file out of driver package clicking on package , extracting ppd archive manager.
installed onboard printer installer- 1) select printer, click forward; 2) program searches driver, click 'cancel' if finds one, click "forward"; 3 "choose driver" screen comes up, click "provide ppd file" navigate browser lookup extracted ppd of z600 , click forward. printer loaded , can try print. hope works other seekers.
