How can I start and turn on symbols from buttons on the main timeline?

hello there!

 

i looked through lot of tutorials , searched community answer couldn´t find need far. think not first asking this. forgive me please.

 

so here 2 questions:

 

1. have timline. there button. have made symbol. symbol should not visible @ start. if click button should make symbol visible , start it.

 

so... code should give button? should sybol on timeline? should turned off or should turn off autoplay?

 

what have far is:

 

the symbol in timeline. set "on" , can make play with:

 

sym.getsymbol("mysymbol").play(0);

 

so far good. problem symbol should on button. not possible press it. logically symbol should turned "off" (then can click button under it) , when click button symbol should turn on , play. code turn "on"?

 

 

2. have button in symbol. can button controll main timeline. should example got frame number 30 on main timeline. possible? code have give button?

 

please help. tried many stuff , wont work. new edge , java script etc.

use jquery hide() show() this:

 

sym.$("mysymbol").hide();

 

sym.$("mysymbol").show();
