Thread: Western Digital external hard disk not readable

hi all!
have 1.5 tb western digital external hard disk, formatted ext3, not accessible after mounting.
after plug device in, automount tries mount , error message saying unable read content (you don't have permissions).

it's not matter of permissions (i think) nautilus marks mount point unreadable.

output desmg follows:

code:

i executed e2fsck, did scan partition still unreadable (even though marked clean).

know if there way @ least recover data (and/or if possible recover hd is) ?

install testdisk , run testdisk , photorec, part of testdisk. proceed carefully. it's better snapshot drive drive , operate on snapshot. don't know when disk fail completely.
