Automated XML - Placeholder Structure Question

i'm testing xml import series of publications need use automated layouts...having never attemped this. confounded regarding placeholder structure , how should mirror xml structure , banging head against wall.

the basics of pub are: have profiles every school in district. profiles grouped type of school (elem, middle, high). test xml example structured this:

<elementaryschools>

<schooldata>

     <name>

     <address>

     <city>

     <state>

     etcetera...the rest of profile demographics, testing scores , other stuff.

</schooldata>

</elementaryschools>

each school has 43 fields.

i setup document (not tempate) 43 frames , taggge them correspond in xml

each time attempt import auto-populate, xml comes in no data displays in frames.

question 1: 43 frames need within parent frame tagged schooldata? if drag "schooldata" node in, contains of proper data. objective auto-populate frames can moved , styled needed.

question: 2: if need data displayed in table-like layout, should trying build tagge table layout?

i've read tutorials on adobe , i've watched couple of lynda vids, seems missing important here. pointing in right direction appreciated.

i cannot image needing layout flowing xml (or text source file xml is) 43 individual frames. nevertheless, isn't going happen easily.

you tag sample text in 43 linked text frames. maybe. never tried it.

as table data, have few options. may wash regards labor involved. 1 option create tables in xml file. format xml areas tables desired elements separated tabs, 1 row of xml = 1 row in table. go through , highlight "tabular" rows , use text table command.

in general, recommend sketching out layout determine want publication like. make picture (so speak). use sample data create paragraph styles. learn how use mapping tags styles. don't need 43 frames.
