Thread: Any way to fix this kernel panic?

hello,

here env , happened.

host os : windows.
guest os : ubuntu 10.04 64 bit.

set virtual box(latest version), , installed ubuntu 10.04 64 bit version...and worked fine...everything fine couple of month....
however, problem that...my laptop unexpectedly shut down because of battery issue while using ubuntu guest os...
right after that....when started ubuntu guest os, of time worked fine..however, sometimes, intermittently, in booting, got error message..

kernel panic – not syncing: io-apic + timer doesn't work! boot apic=debug , send report. try booting 'noapic' option.

never have seen before....so...i tried couple of things...

1. reinstalled kernel --- re-installation ok..however, error message still shows in booting intermittently...
2. understand may(or may not..) work 'noapic' option (don't know haven't tried yet), don't want take route solve issue
option never used , know able use ubuntu guest os without kind of tweaking @ all..

believe happened right after laptop shut down unexpectedly.....maybe kernel corrupted something?
well...instead of clean installation scratch, there can try fix kernel panic issue?

in advance.

moved virtualisation.
