Thread: Cannot connect to Virtualbox via RDP

hello,
i've set windows 8 x64 in virtualbox , assigned vm "bridge adapter" on "virbr0". ip gathered via $ ifconfig. furthermore, i've enabled rdp (including non-ms-machines) in w8's settings. network in w8 listed "unidentified access" w/ "limited access". using "wlan0"-settings network identified, yet makes no difference actual problem:
cannot access vm via rdp, tried remmina winconn. $ ping works, however.

can me? i'm running ubuntu 12.10 x64.

oh god, feel totally derpy right now.

turned out installing actual rdp-plugin virtualbox kinda helpful in terms of using actual rdp-features...

e.g:
  1. dl , install virtualbox 4.2.12 oracle vm virtualbox extension pack | https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/downloads
  2. set adapter nat in settings
  3. start vm
  4. check if it's working via $ netstat -an | grep <your port> (in case, 3389)
  5. have fun
