Thread: How secure is the Encryption that Ubuntu uses?

i have couple of questions:

1 - how secure encryption ubuntu uses? can normal user by-pass it? fbi? someone? (w/o passwd, of course)

2 - how restrict access specific folder? let's friend comes use computer , don't want him see folder. how that? , how put password use, let's say, chromium?

3 - don't use swap partition no trace there, let's say, of bank acc password. other possible places files may when/after writing/accessing?

which encryption talking about?

there 2 methods of encryption available when installing ubuntu, either whole drive encryption or home folder encryption.
