Thread: Strong real time strategy games

i'm looking rts games on linux, similar civ5. there list of maintained games check out? had found 1 game when search before, cross between civ 2 , game, hadnt been in active development long time.

last time checked, civ 5 still turn-based. turn-based open-source program may thinking of freeciv. there's freecol, remake of colonization.

far real-time strategy (rts) goes, current pickings on linux slim. warzone 2100 full-featured 1999 rts, made open source years ago , has gotten better , better since. it's must. glob2 different , worth look. spring engine available on linux well. personally, rts fix running total annihilation (available gog.com) playonlinux. starcraft runs great well, , many other games written other operating system, using playonlinux (which heartily recommend--google it; isn't in repositories).

closest thing in gameplay rts 1 of tower defense games, , there lot. there lot of games run in chrome browser (or in chromium) free, including plants vs. zombies , other stuff. maybe serious strategy games.

don't forget linux clients steam , desura, also. desura has number of free games, , cheapish rts-ish games. steam has lot of games, , adding more time, , has grand strategic commercial game crusader kings 2 available.
