i'm having terrible problems trying usb live 2 work. i'm using dell xps 17 l702x running ubuntu 12.04 lts. thought driver issue seem driver should included in current lts kernel. seem others have got card working without problem. best i've managed far using vlc , got no video , briefest snatch of audio followed silence snatch of audio. checking dmesg gives whole bunch of "cx231xx #0: usbinterface::sendcommand, failed status --19". have tried various applications no success , grabber works fine under windows. have checked chipset visually make sure hasnt been changed different version. lsusb reporting without problem having tried again not showing @ all. thing i've changed i've uninstalled few of applications i'd installed in attempt output. appreciated searches turning nothing.

<edit> lsusb started reporting again after reboot id 2040:c200 hauppauge. if use lsusb -v "couldn't open device, information missing" . have tried in different ports no avail. tending think driver issue i'm no expert. think read somewhere pulse , alsa can conflict haven't been able find article again

Some mp4 files not displaying correctly (CS6)

a week ago in premiere pro cs6 world. one day updated windows, next day few .mp4 video files opened in premiere pro, played fine well, except fact display has green (sometimes multicolour, solid green block) bars in lower third of screen. see screenshot below.   these same files open/display fine in after effects, photoshop , vlc- , quicktime players. i'd read fromyears ago windows updates causing this, removed 1 of therecent kb's no avail. i did install adobemediaencodertrial_64-6.0.3-mul-adobeupdate and dynamiclinkmediaserverretail-1.0.1-mul-adobeupdate and reverted quicktime 7.6 but nothing makes difference.   in end, formatted c:\, reinstalled windows 7 ultimate 64bit , downloaded/installed 260 updates , reinstalled cs6 (and aforementioned ame , dlms updates , qt7.6) it's still same problem.   also tried exporting (part of) 1 of these files, see if wasn't display problem: exported file same properties original has green bars.   what else can do?   thanks in advanc
