Thread: New to Ubuntu 12.04, my quick story.

i mean have windows...i guess it's not end of world. here's story cares.

-1 year ago bought $270 new asus.
-windows 7 slow on , knew ubuntu make little quicker
-i tried install both whatever reason ubuntu wouldn't boot.
-i messed partitions , windows 7 gone good.

pros:
-my laptop sooo quicker , smoother.
-video loads quicker , crisper
-i don't play pc games care less

cons:
-libreoffice ... hear me out... works fine me. go university in philly have lot of papers need write. libre works great. issue tend write papers @ home edit them @ school during breaks or when i'm staying gf in city. when open libre formatted paper format comes out messed up. annoying , makes me worry emailing papers else.
-netflix, hell...booooo
-itunes sync media with.

aside ubuntu 12.04 great. it's have new laptop. feel os looks more, modern? better fonts, unity toolbar, ect.

any tips or tricks should know ... maybe apps?

twice things have seemed lock on me, once making me force shutdown. thing noticed top bar of unity randomly glitch on , off.

i hope using 'microsoft word' format save libreoffice. avoid 'messed formatting' can is, use "microsoft word web app" 'skydrive' create, access , edit documents. need microsoft account use it. see screenshot have appended below. don't know how web app integrates untiy. access browser. skydrive gives a, generous 25gb free storage.
