Thread: Failed instalation

hey guys. here's situation. have old pc (cpu ~800mhz, 256mb ram) , trying instal lubuntu alternate cd (13.04), fails @ select , install software. % @ fails varies across instalations, , if it, let's fails @ 85% fails install bootloader if choose skip step. happens both if choose make hhd in 1 partition(ext4) or if make 2 partitions (again ext4). have internet while instalation running (though don't see how relevant). tried detaching hdd , plugging in other pc (dual core, 2gb ram, etc) , instalation there (from same cd) goes perfectly, , on returning hdd on old pc can boot os, things lan card, printers , maybe sound (i forgot test that) don't work.

asking, problem?

this hardware problem, specs pushing minimum limit.

suggest more basic install of lubuntu. theres big difference in packages between 12.04 , 13.04, go 12.04 install without recommended packages. can alternate cd , terminal install. after add lubuntu minimal terminal command:
