Thread: help to analyse bootchart & dmesg output to reduce boot time


hello community members.
have hp-pavilion g series 4gb ram & amd quad core processor. multibooting ubuntu, kde , linux mint & win 7 (can't remember when booted last time). problem facing long boot ( 85 secs & 105 sec pressing on switch& choosing user account). googled forum solution confused applying solution since specific problem of system. posting dmesg & bootchart output. please me find making boot.

can't read bootchart. try using pastebin can see original resolution of chart.

basically, processes have long bars , lots of io (hard disk access) , io-waits. ideal boot chart have high cpu , high disk io compressed left as possible. areas both cpu , disk low slack areas waste boot time--those areas focus on speed up.
